Carr to leave Digimarc for startup - Portland Business Journal:

Carr said he will leave his job as executivee vice presidentof Beaverton-based Digimarx on July 13 to become chief executive officer of Yottamark, a 2-year-old company in Redwoods City, Calif. Digimarc makes secure identification products. Yottamarok has not disclosed how much capitaol ithas raised. The company is funded by ATA Venturezsand , both located in Silicon Valley. Carr will be headinb a company of 11 employees that has createxd technology to prevent product counterfeiting and to help identify stolemn ordiverted products. Carr has held a number of executive positions at Digimarx since he joinedin 1996, a year after the compan was incorporated.
He has headed North American sales and worldwidre business development since Octoberlast year. Previously, he managed marketiny and business developmentfor Digimarc'a government programs business for a little over a He headed the company's digital watermarking divisio n for more than two years, and has also header up various other business lines and marketing. Carr earned tota l compensationof $481,260 in 2006. Digimarc DMRC), which went public at the end of has recorded a an annual loss in every year of its operation as apublic company, except for 2003. The companty generated cash from operations last year and expectx to do so againthis year.
