Merck & Co. to provide free medicine for low-income Kentuckians - Business First of Louisville:

Under the agreement, Mercki will provide 11 of its medicationx free of charge to Kentuckians who qualify for freehealtg care. Health Kentucky is a private, nonprofiy organization that arranges access to health care foruninsured Kentuckians. The free medicationz are part of an effort by Healtn Kentucky toprovide low-income Kentuckians with access to high-quality health according to a news release. The medicatione that are being madeavailable are: Cozaar, Hyzaar, Singulair, Zocor, Maxalt, Maxalt-MLT, Trusopt, Vioxx and Fosamax. Several of the drugs are treatments for conditions for which no druga were previously available through the Health Kentucky therelease said.
Merck, based in Whitehouswe Station, N.J., joins a network of volunteer health-care providers, which consists of seven othedpharmaceutical companies, more than 3,000 physicians, 140 dentists, 460 pharmacies, all 127 acute-carew hospitals.
