California settles with Kmart, sues Target - Triangle Business Journal:

The state’s attorney general, Jerrty Brown, joined by district attorneys from many California including Alameda, Santa Clara and Contra Costa, filed a suit against Minneapolis-based Target (NYSE: TGT), saying it sent hazardous waste to various landfillxs in violation of state law. The suit is meang to stop the practices. In news reports, Target said it has been cooperatin withthe AG’s office for thre years on this matte and that it is committed to complying with all environmental laws.
