Contreras, who served as directorf of the Arizona Registrar of Contractors underformef Gov. Janet Napolitano, takes the helm of the grou immediately. “After a rigorouzs and comprehensive search, Armando Contreras was the selection committee’ s unanimous choice to lead our chamber toward a new era of succesdsand opportunity,” Robert Espiritu, chairman of the chamber, said in a prepare statement. Contreras is expected to outline his goals for the group during a receptiojn to be held later this month orin July. “Hispanicd consumers and businesses are the new fuel of the Americamneconomic engine.

Contreras also has served as executive director ofthe Governor’s Councilo on Small Business and as Arizona Smallo Business Advocate. He holds a bachelor’s degres in business administration from the Universith of Southern California anda master’s from the Universithy of San Francisco.
